Implementations Network Engineer - 174869

Responsibilities: : Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations. Implement network services in accordance with DISA standards, policies, and procedures. Work directly with customers, solution architects, and vendor subject matter experts to implement network changes and resolve technical issues. Manage Service Orders in accordance with Change Management processes. Ensure Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs) are accurate and in place for scheduled network additions and modifications. Initiate and validate network device configurations using approved configuration templates and configlets. Analyze DISN databases and management systems to validate customer requirements and support implementation activities. Design and implement solutions to complex networking challenges through testing, documentation, and configuration modification on network devices. Coordinate customer circuit activations with commercial vendors to establish end-to-end network connectivity. Perform network monitoring and impact assessments during and after implementation activities to ensure customer traffic remains unaffected. Utilize systems analysis techniques to determine hardware, software, and network functional requirements. Collaborate with DISA Project Managers and customers to resolve incomplete or unclear service requirements. Facilitate stakeholder communications and approval workflows to ensure service requests progress efficiently. Engineer and model network connections across the DISN by evaluating bandwidth requirements and network constraints. Support network optimization, survivability testing, routing analysis, and operational assessments utilizing DISN analytical tools. Provide impact assessments, network grooming recommendations, and alternate routing support during operational and contingency events. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field. 4-8 years of relevant network engineering experience or Master's Degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Active Secret Security Clearance . DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent). Experience configuring, activating, testing, and troubleshooting enterprise network systems. Knowledge of network routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs, VRFs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP. Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and WAN technologies. Understanding of telecommunications technologies, circuit provisioning, and network implementation processes. Experience with network performance monitoring, problem management, and service activation procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
