The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between our international vendors, customs brokers, and partner government agencies (PGAs) to guarantee timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other import documentation for accuracy and completeness.
    • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, and internal business partners to facilitate timely customs clearance and delivery for imports into the U.S. and Canada.
    • Track international and cross-border shipments and provide proactive status updates, issue resolution, and escalation support when delays or exceptions occur.
    • Support compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian import regulations, company policies, tariff requirements, and government agency requirements, including coordination with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency as needed.
    • Assist with Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Canadian tariff classification, duty review, country of origin validation, landed cost analysis, and import-related data validation.
    • Support duty drawback activities by identifying eligible import and export transactions, gathering required documentation, validating data, and assisting with claim preparation, submission, tracking, and audit readiness.
    • Maintain accurate import, export, and duty drawback records to support regulatory compliance, internal controls, claim substantiation, and audit readiness.
    • Analyze import activity, duty spend, drawback opportunities, shipment performance, costs, and exceptions to identify trends, risks, savings opportunities, and process improvements.
    • Partner with procurement, supply chain, finance, warehouse, trade compliance, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve U.S. and Canadian import processes.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, international business, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
    • 3 or more years of experience in import operations, logistics, customs brokerage, procurement, trade compliance, or supply chain support.
    • Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian import documentation, customs clearance processes, Incoterms, tariff classification, landed costs, duty drawback concepts, and international transportation methods.
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and business systems such as ERP, TMS, or shipment tracking platforms.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international suppliers.
    • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Canada Border Services Agency, and Partner Government Agency requirements, as applicable.
    • Experience supporting duty drawback programs, drawback claim documentation, import/export data reconciliation, or customs audit preparation.
    • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Power Query, or other reporting and data analysis tools.

    Key Working Relationships

This role works closely with procurement, supply chain, logistics, finance, warehouse operations, customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation carriers, and international suppliers to ensure imported goods move efficiently and compliantly through the supply chain.
