The Compliance Specialist ensures the organization complies with all applicable federal laws, regulations, and contractual requirements related to government contracting. The role supports the company's ethics and compliance program and ensures adherence to regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), export control laws (ITAR/EAR), and import control laws.
The Compliance Specialist supports compliance with export control regulations, including ITAR and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Prepare and manage ATF Form 6 (Part I) applications for permanent importation of firearms, ammunition, and implements of war. Execute ATF Form 6A for the release of defense articles from U.S. Customs custody and ensure serial numbers are reported to ATF within 15 days of release. Maintain and renew company AECA registration for U.S. Munitions Import List (USMIL) articles using ATF Form 4587. Manage renewal and compliance of Federal Firearms Licenses (FFL) and Federal Explosives Licenses (FEL), including Responsible Person designations.
Monitor compliance with federal government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFARS. Interpret regulatory requirements and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders. Track regulatory updates from agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense and update policies as required. Develop, update, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures. Maintain documentation supporting regulatory and contractual compliance obligations. Conduct internal compliance reviews and risk assessments. Support external audits and reviews from government agencies such as DCAA and DCMA. Track corrective actions and ensure remediation of compliance gaps. Provide employee training on ethics, government contracting compliance, export controls, and regulatory requirements. Promote awareness of the company's compliance program and reporting mechanisms. Assist with investigations involving potential compliance violations, conflicts of interest, or ethics concerns. Prepare reports and maintain records related to compliance monitoring activities.
