Compensation: $45-55/hr.

Job Duties: 

 We are seeking an Import / Export Specialist to manage day-to-day international trade compliance and support inbound and outbound shipments across the organization. This role will be responsible for customs classification, documentation, broker coordination, regulatory compliance, and ensuring accurate and efficient cross-border movement of equipment and parts.

• Manage import and export compliance for inbound and outbound shipments
• Maintain accurate HTS/HS classifications and country-of-origin information for machines, equipment, and parts
• Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure accurate and timely customs filings
• Respond to requests from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and customs brokers regarding classification, units of measure, manufacturers, valuation, and other trade information
• Monitor and maintain customs bonds in the U.S. and Canada, including renewals and utilization
• Monitor trade compliance systems and customs portals, including ACE and other platforms
• Prepare and review commercial invoices and export documentation
• Support specialized cross-border transactions, including temporary imports/exports, TIBs, carnets, USMCA/CUSMA, repairs, and other duty-saving programs

• Take ownership of the company's import/export compliance function rather than being just another person processing paperwork
• Work directly with customs brokers, freight forwarders, manufacturing, logistics, and commercial teams
• Play an important role in keeping international shipments moving efficiently and compliantly
• Gain exposure to HTS classification, FTZ and bonded warehouse activity, duty drawback, CTPAT, USMCA/CUSMA, and other global trade programs

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience in import/export, international trade, customs compliance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of HTS/HS classification and U.S. Customs regulations
• Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
