The Import Transportation Coordinator role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad understanding of global supply chain operations while building valuable analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced business environment.


Location: Full-time onsite, Monday-Friday

Work Environment: Professional office setting (not a warehouse position and not remote)


What You'll Do


As an Import Transportation Coordinator, you will support the movement of imported products from origin to destination while helping optimize transportation costs, service, and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities


+ Coordinate daily communication with ocean carriers, drayage providers, freight forwarders, and internal business partners.

+ Assist with carrier selection and transportation planning to support cost-effective movement of imported goods.

+ Maintain transportation rates, routing information, and logistics data within company systems.

+ Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for process improvements and savings.

+ Support freight claim investigations and resolution activities.

+ Partner with Accounts Payable to review freight invoices and ensure billing accuracy.

+ Collaborate with Purchasing, Customer Service, Finance, and Trade Compliance teams on transportation and import-related initiatives.

+ Assist in resolving shipment delays, service issues, and transportation exceptions.

+ Maintain logistics records and support daily shipment processing activities.

+ Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance supply chain performance and customer service.


What We're Looking For


_Preferred Education_


+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

+ Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.


_Qualifications_


+ Internship, coursework, or experience related to supply chain, logistics, transportation, operations, or international business is a plus.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Self-motivated with a desire to learn and develop professionally.

+ Experience with ERP or transportation systems is beneficial but not required.
