IN-DOH-Team Lead Accountant-Project Clean Up

Team Lead AccountantThis position will act as the Team Lead and maintain tracking of the status of the grants/projects being reconciled to the point of being closed in PeopleSoft and Euna (Finance and Grants software) in addition to completing the reconciliations.Purpose of the Position: This position is assigned to work within the finance department as an accountant to correct old, open projects to the point of having those projects closed out in PeopleSoft and Euna (Financial & Grants software). In addition, this position will act as the Team Lead and maintain tracking of the status of the grants/projects being reconciled to the point of being closed in PeopleSoft and Euna (Finance and Grants software).These tasks will involve a large amount of audit work, which will lead to the need to create journal entries and/or revenue transactions. This position will require the ability to work independently but also know when to ask questions and/or coordinate transactions with other teams within finance.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Reconcile projectsAudit project activities from the past to correct the activities by projectProcess journal entries as neededReconcile and request assigned projects to be closed upon completionEngage in comprehensive reviews of financial dataProcess revenue transactions within PeopleSoft as neededReview and understand Notice of Awards and Grant Requirements as they relate to the reconciliation of grants/projectsMaintain listing of all projects/grants to be reconciled and the status of eachJob Requirements:Thorough knowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesThorough knowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Audit Standards and related theoriesThorough knowledge of Governmental AccountingBroad knowledge of federal, state and agency budgeting and fiscal policies and proceduresExtensive knowledge of agency organization and functionAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the organizationAbility to work under pressure and to practice diplomacy, tact, and courtesyAbility to work independentlyAbility to problem-solve and research and recommend remedies to complex issuesAbility to develop and follow effective proceduresAbility to stay organized and maintain appropriate communication with the "Clean Up Project" groupExperience Required:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or compensatory experience working in the accounting field3-5 years of accounting/auditing experience showing progressionState government accounting experience is preferred, and will be very helpfulRequired/Desired SkillsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance - Desired - 0Experience with People Soft. - Required - 3 - Years3-5 years of progressive accounting/auditing experience. - Required - 0Knowledge of GAAP - Required - 7 - YearsKnowledge of GAAS - Required - 7 - YearsGovernment Accounting - Highly desired - 3 - YearsAudit Experience - Highly desired - 3 - YearsExperience with Euna financial and grants software. - Highly desired - 0State government accounting experience. - Desired - 3 - Years
