Location: Haymarket, VA 20169 Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience) Schedule:
Thursday & Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Care Partner to provide one-on-one support for a young adult with complex disabilities in Haymarket, Virginia. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by promoting independence, supporting daily living activities, encouraging community participation, and fostering a positive peer-mentor relationship.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide support with personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and daily living activities.
Assist with medication administration and other health-related supports. Training will be provided.
Support mobility, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment.
Encourage participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events.
Assist with communication using assistive technology and speech-generating devices.
Promote independence while providing hands-on support as needed.
Participate in community-based activities, including swimming and recreational programs.
Support social engagement and appropriate use of social media platforms.
Build a positive and supportive relationship while encouraging personal growth and community involvement.
Qualifications
Required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass background checks and complete required agency training.
Comfortable providing personal care assistance.
Patient, positive, dependable, and professional.
Comfortable working in a home with a friendly service dog.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including assisting with mobility and transfers.
Preferred
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or special needs.
Experience as a DSP, CNA, caregiver, teacher, therapist, nursing assistant, childcare provider, or related role.
Interest in community engagement, recreation, social media, fashion, and creative activities.
Recent graduates and college students are encouraged to apply.
