We are seeking a compassionate and dependable professional to support an adult with autism in a tailored in-home day program. This role focuses on providing structured, person-centered support that promotes independence, engagement, communication, and meaningful daily routines in a safe and respectful environment.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support during scheduled in-home day program hours.
Implement individualized activities that encourage skill development, engagement, and participation.
Support daily routines, transitions, and activities of daily living as appropriate to the individual’s needs.
Use positive, respectful approaches to promote independence and self-advocacy.
Assist with communication, redirection, and engagement using preferred methods and supports.
Document progress, activities, observations, and any notable concerns according to program guidelines.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment.
Collaborate with family members, care teams, and supervisors to follow the support plan and adapt activities as needed.
Encourage participation in recreational, educational, sensory, and life skills-based activities.
Follow all applicable policies related to confidentiality, safety, and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Experience supporting autistic adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, or similar populations preferred.
Ability to deliver compassionate, person-centered support in a home-based setting.
Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow individualized support plans and take direction from supervisors and care teams.
Comfort with structured routines, activity planning, and documentation.
Dependable, organized, and able to maintain professionalism in a private home environment.
Ability to support behaviors with calm, respectful, and positive approaches.
Must be able to meet any background check, training, and other hiring requirements applicable to the role.
Preferred Skills
Experience with autism support, ABA-informed strategies, or developmental services.
Knowledge of sensory-friendly activities and communication supports.
Experience encouraging life skills, community participation, or adaptive learning activities.
Familiarity with tracking goals and documenting service delivery.
