    Job Description

    The In-House Equipment Technician is responsible for preparing, modifying, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial equipment. This position provides technical support to the Technical Support Team and Field Service Technicians while ensuring equipment is properly prepared for customers, demonstrations, trade shows, evaluations, and field testing.

    Key Responsibilities

    \n
    • \n
    • Test and program new equipment.
    • \n
    • Prepare equipment for new customers, demonstrations, trade shows, evaluations, and field testing.
    • \n
    • Modify equipment based on customer, operational, or demonstration requirements.
    • \n
    • Accurately diagnose technical problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
    • \n
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
    • \n
    • Evaluate and repair returned equipment.
    • \n
    • Identify defective parts and report findings to the department manager.
    • \n
    • Maintain accurate service records, performance reports, and documentation of work performed.
    • \n
    • Enter technical information into internal network drives and update the status of equipment ready for sale.
    • \n
    • Maintain parts stock and control laboratory inventory.
    • \n
    • Keep the equipment laboratory, tools, parts, and equipment clean, safe, and orderly.
    • \n
    • Assist warehouse personnel with identifying parts for Field Service Technicians.
    • \n
    • Provide technical assistance to the Technical Support Team and Field Service Technicians.
    • \n
    • Evaluate the taste, quality, and appearance of finished beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and other coffee-based products.
    • \n
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of how equipment components and systems work together.
    • \n
    • Perform other related duties and assignments as required by management.
    • \n

    • Ability to diagnose technical issues accurately and professionally.
    • \n
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and organize daily activities.
    • \n
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • \n
    • Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • \n
    • Skilled in the use of hand tools and testing instruments, including multimeters.
    • \n
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • \n
    • Professional attitude and appearance.
    • \n
    • Ability to travel as required, up to approximately 10%.
    • \n
    • Coffee industry experience is preferred but not required.
    • \n
    \n

    Education And Experience

    \n
    • \n
    • Minimum of five years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar mechanical, electrical, or electronic technical position.
    • \n
    • Completion of a two-year technical or trade school program, apprenticeship program, or an equivalent combination of education and on-the-job training.
    • \n

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    \n
    • \n
    • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
    • \n
    • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
    • \n
    • Ability to participate in team lifting of equipment weighing up to 140 pounds.
    • \n
    • Ability to walk, climb, bend, crouch, and work in elevated areas when necessary.
    • \n
    • Visual acuity sufficient to perform equipment and component inspections.
    • \n
    • Hearing ability sufficient to identify equipment and component irregularities during troubleshooting.
    • \n
    \n
