The Tutorverse is engaging experienced Test Prep Tutor (In-person) in the NYC area to help our students achieve!
Requirements
- Test Prep Experience: Applicants must have experience in helping students prepare for all sections of the SAT/ACT
- Bonus points for experience with SHSAT, ISEE/SSAT, HSPT/TACHS, or other relevant standardized entrance exams
- Location: Applicants must be available to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, but primarily in Manhattan.
Benefits of being a Test Prep Expert with The Tutorverse
- Flexible schedule: Work as many hours as you want! You are welcome to contract for as many or as few engagements as you'd like.
- Starting hourly rate of $90-100 for in-person: We appreciate the experience that you bring to the role, and we compensate you as such!

- Help with the boring stuff: We find the clients, help with scheduling, and enforce our cancellation policy all so you can focus on what you love to do - teach.
Additional Qualities You Bring to the Table
We're searching high and low for a reliable, organized, and experienced Test Prep Expert who is passionate and approachable. Our ideal candidate is:
- Dynamic and Engaging: You should be able to hold your own in front of students and deliver content in a dynamic and engaging manner.
- Experienced and has a Bachelor's Degree: We make a promise to our families that our instructors are truly experts in their respective fields, so we ask that you have a bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, as well as five years of postgraduate teaching experience.
Bonus Points If...
- You have experience helping students with their academic studies as well!
- Subjects include, but are not limited to:
- Math: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC
- ELA: Common Core State Exams, general reading comprehension, essay writing, AP Language, AP Literature
- Science: AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Physics
This is a contract-based, 1099 position. You will have flexibility and control over your schedule. You will not be eligible for any employee-based benefits such as PTO or health benefits.
