Join Wynalda Packaging as an In-Process Quality Control Technician
Wynalda Packaging is a leading folding carton manufacturer, partnering with global brands across diverse industries. As an In-Process Quality Control Technician, you’ll ensure every carton moving through our pressrooms and converting lines meets customer specifications and our rigorous standards.
A Day in the Life
From start-up to shipment, you’re the quality gatekeeper on the floor:
- Kick off each run by completing and documenting start-up procedures per Work Instructions on printing presses, die-cutters, and gluers on the Graphic Drive line and on printing presses and bindery equipment on the Montana Trail line.
- Test inbound raw materials to verify they meet requirements before production use.
- Perform routine checks of retains throughout every job and department; at job closeout, verify proofs, sign-off sheets, and retains.
- Measure finished cut sizes for cards, wraps, and books and validate color against customer samples.
- Guard against mixed product; inspect yellow-marked material before die-cutting, ensure die-cutters separate yellow-marked material correctly, and keep it segregated from good stock.
- Confirm gluers are equipped with functioning barcode readers and glue detectors; review pulls and respond appropriately.
- Initiate sorting documentation as needed; account for all scrap and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct audits of processes and personnel across the company; verify line clearance is performed between jobs.
- Before shipment, check skid-tag details against the actual skid contents.
- Execute milstandards checks and perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and final testing on finished goods.
- Issue CAPARs (Corrective and Preventive Action Reports) and complete shortage forms for any jobs under count.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives; other duties may be assigned.
