Position Purpose/Summary:
The Inbound / Receiving Inspector is a developmental quality role responsible for learning and performing documented inspections of incoming aerospace hardware and materials. This position supports the inbound inspection process by verifying that products meet purchase order requirements, engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality system standards before being released into inventory.
This role is designed for individuals with some inspection experience who are motivated to build technical skills in blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and aerospace quality compliance. Under supervision and structured training, the Inspector develops the knowledge and confidence to make objective accept/reject decisions while ensuring traceability and documentation accuracy in an AS9100-regulated environment.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
The Inbound Receiving Inspector performs the following duties under supervision and training progression:
Incoming Inspection Support
Verify purchase orders against received material.
Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance (COCs), material certifications, and test reports for completeness.
Perform dimensional and visual inspections using calibrated inspection tools.
Compare inspection results against engineering drawings and defined specifications.
Identify obvious discrepancies and escalate uncertain conditions to senior quality personnel.
Segregate and properly label nonconforming material according to procedure.
Documentation & Traceability
Accurately record inspection results in inspection reports, ERP system, or designated tracking logs.
Ensure required documentation is complete prior to inventory release.
Scan and file certifications and quality records into company systems.
Support traceability requirements by maintaining documentation accuracy.
Measurement & Technical Skill Development
Learn and demonstrate proper use of:
o Calipers
o Micrometers
o Height gauges
o Thread/ring gauges
o Optical comparators (as trained)
Develop understanding of basic blueprint interpretation.
Learn GD&T fundamentals as part of role progression.
Participate in structured training related to inspection methods and aerospace quality standards.
Quality & Safety Compliance
Follow documented quality procedures and inspection instructions.
Escalate unclear blueprint interpretations or specification conflicts.
Maintain clean and organized inspection area.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
We need a strong, reliable candidate who can support receiving inspection, documentation review, product verification, and quality accuracy. Must have 1 year of inspection using micrometers and calipers with strong blueprint reading skills. Aerospace, fastener, quality documentation control, SAP or other ERP experience is highly preferred. The ideal person should be computer literate, able to use emails word, and filter excel reports.
Pay Rate: $22$23 per hour + $2,100 annual bonus.
