DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on reviewing, coordinating, and supporting Intellectual Disabilities programs within the Washington County BHDS. The role ensures that services meet regulations and assists providers through planning, development, implementation, and coordination. As a County ID Program Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:

Conducts needs assessments of current incident management programs and develops new or improved program objectives, plans, policies, and procedures by conceptualizing best practice for incident management and investigations, planning the timeline for development, and determining program organizational structures. Ensures overall program effectiveness and compliance with federal and state laws, state and county guidelines and regulations, and county contractual agreements.

Evaluates the effectiveness of incident management programs and investigations in meeting timeframes and goals/objectives by reviewing incident and investigation documentation such as EIM incident reports, investigation witness statements, and peer and administrative reviews. Compiles investigation findings to assess whether evidence is concrete and reliable and explores county and provider tracking systems to ensure all health and safety/corrective action plans are met timely and adhere to all applicable requirements and standards. Recommends action when necessary to resolve concerns and responds to inquiries from staff regarding effectiveness of the incident management program.
