Job title: Head Start Inclusion Coach

The Inclusion Specialist promotes inclusive practices for children with disabilities in Early Head Start and Head Start programs, ensuring meaningful participation in classroom and home-based settings.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct observations and inclusion assessments in classroom and home-based environments
  • Provide individualized coaching, consultation, and modeling to support inclusive practices
  • Guide staff on environmental modifications, accommodations, and embedded learning opportunities
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and service providers to develop inclusion support plans
  • Create individualized goals and strategies that support participation in daily routines
  • Design and deliver targeted training on inclusion and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Provide follow-up support to strengthen staff implementation and effectiveness

What it takes:

  • Bachelors degree in early childhood education or related field.
  • Masters degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience working with children with disabilities, birth to 5, in a home-based and/or classroom-based setting.
  • 2 years of experience with assessment, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance in implementing inclusive practices with program staff and service providers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Possess an insured & reliable vehicle and a valid AZ driver's license.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • DES Criminal Affidavit Required
  • AZ DHS Criminal History Affidavit Required
  • FPC DPS Verification Required
