Project Background and Objectives

The Inclusive Internship Program aims to create mutual value by offering meaningful career opportunities for candidates with disabilities and neurodivergence, while also generating insights, building inclusive capabilities, and strengthening team practices across WBG units. The program's objectives are:

• Promote equity of access and support for neurodivergent young people to enable them to reach their full potential and succeed.

• Create an inclusive and accessible workplace that embraces the contribution of individuals with disabilities

• The WBG gains perspectives and attitudes that neurodivergent staff can bring to the workplace.

• The WBG gains the support, education, and skills necessary to support and promote neurodivergent talent.

Program Details

• Internship Duration

Internships will last between three and six months.

• Training and Preparation

Supervisors and team members will participate in inclusive leadership and disability awareness training to create a supportive environment. This training will emphasize understanding disabilities and neurodivergence, fostering effective communication, and promoting an inclusive team dynamic.

• Tasks and Responsibilities

Interns will engage in meaningful projects aligned with their skills and interests. These tasks will contribute to the objectives of their respective teams while offering opportunities for skill development. With support from the local office or hiring teams, interns can also enhance their social, organizational, and professional skills throughout the internship.

What you will bring?

Interns at WBG will contribute to the organization's mission by supporting projects, research, and operations across various departments. Their work will include:

• Research and Analysis: Conduct research on development topics, policies, and projects. Summarize findings in reports, presentations, or briefing notes.

• Data Collection and Management: Collect, clean, and analyze data to support ongoing projects, evaluations, or reports. Maintain accurate records and databases.

• Project Support: Assist teams in planning, monitoring, and implementing initiatives. Support coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

• Communication and Outreach: Draft communication materials such as newsletters, social media content, and internal updates. Assist in preparing materials for workshops, webinars, and events.

• Knowledge Management: Document lessons learned, best practices, and project updates. Contribute to the organization's knowledge-sharing platforms.

• Administrative Support: Provide logistical support for meetings, events, and reporting as needed, while ensuring smooth project operations.

The scope may vary depending on departmental needs, interns' skills, and the nature of ongoing projects. Supervisors will assign tasks that are meaningful, manageable, and aligned with learning objectives.

Expected Outcomes

• Teams adopt inclusive practices regarding disabilities and neurodiversity.

• Interns gain professional skills, confidence, and leadership exposure.

• Departments identify future talent for inclusive hiring strategies.

• Enhanced awareness of the value and contributions of neurodivergent and disabled talent within the WBG.

Reporting and Oversight

• Supervisors and HR teams will monitor intern progress, supported by Inclusion & Belonging Team.

• Regular updates will be shared with Department Heads and CO management.

• Final report to include intern evaluations, feedback from supervisors, and recommendations for future internships.
