Kforce has a client that is seeking an Income Tax Accountant in Wayne, NJ. Key Responsibilities: Income Tax Provision & Reporting:
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740
  • Support the calculation of current and deferred tax positions
  • Prepare and analyze tax account reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related financial statement disclosures
  • Monitor and document changes in tax regulations and assess financial reporting impacts
Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax workpapers
  • Support the completion of corporate income tax returns and extensions
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors during compliance and audit activities
  • Maintain tax calendars and ensure timely filing of tax-related obligations
  • Assist with tax notices and audit inquiries from taxing authorities
Tax Analysis & Research:
  • Research and analyze tax issues, regulations, and emerging legislation
  • Prepare supporting documentation and memorandums for tax positions
  • Evaluate the tax impact of business transactions and accounting changes
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and process improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Payroll, HR, and Legal teams to obtain information needed for tax reporting and compliance
  • Support external audits and respond to information requests
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure tax implications are properly considered in business decisions
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and documentation
  • Assist with automation and efficiency initiatives within the tax function
  • Maintain organized tax records and supporting schedules

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-7 years of corporate income tax, public accounting, or tax consulting experience
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and tax provision calculations
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state income tax principles
  • Understanding of corporate tax compliance processes
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a national or regional firm
  • Experience with OneSource, Corptax, Vertex, Alteryx, or similar tax software
  • Experience supporting multinational or publicly traded organizations
  • Knowledge of international tax concepts and transfer pricing

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
