Position Summary:
Exponential Health Pharmacy is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a PRN (as-needed) position. This role provides coverage for staff pharmacist absences due to vacation, illness, and other scheduling gaps. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, and able to step in with minimal onboarding to maintain continuity of pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and verify prescription orders in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, including dosage, contraindications, and allergies
- Collaborate with prescribers to resolve questions or issues regarding prescriptions
- Ensure compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards of practice
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians as needed
- Manage inventory, including ordering and proper storage of medications
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and caregivers
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent from an accredited pharmacy program
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Michigan
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Prior retail or independent pharmacy experience preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to pharmacy workflows and systems
Schedule:
- PRN / as-needed basis
- Immediate availability needed August 15 – August 31
- Future shifts as needed to cover staff absences (vacation, sick leave, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (medication stock, supplies)
