    Description

    Position overviewWe are seeking a reliable, patient, and attentive Independent Living Services (ILS) Instructor to provide support for an individual with Mild Intellectual Disability. Services will focus on increasing independence in daily living skills, HUD, cooking and safety awareness, and hygiene and shopping and budgeting while ensuring safety and accessibility. The ideal candidate is adaptable, observant, and comfortable supporting an individual with showering (bathing) and personal needs.Primary Goals of Support
    • Daily personal hygiene and self-care routines
    • Support safe and confident safety navigation
    • Assist with shopping & budgeting
    • Update HUD information
    Key ResponsibilitiesPersonal Hygiene & Daily Living SkillsCommunity Navigation Assistance
    • Provide guidance and support with personal hygiene routines
    • Encourage independence while offering assistance as needed
    • Help establish consistent daily routines
    Related ChallengesThe individual’s may present unique challenges that staff must be prepared to address, including:Navigation & Safety
    • Additional guidance may be required to safely navigation in the ktichen
    • Staff may need to provide HUD housing support, shopping and budgeting assistance.
    Communication & AccessibilityTasks involving: supporting client with Consistency and Follow-ThroughAdapted Training NeedsTasks involving: Staff, helping with Cognitive or Behavioral BarriersIdeal Candidate Qualities
    • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferred
    • Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
    • Patient, dependable, and adaptable
    • Comfortable providing hands-on support while promoting independence
    • Able to work independently.
    Work Environment
    • One-on-one support in home and community settings
    • Clients  schedule
    • Structured, supportive, and consistency focused role
    Job Requirements

    Required Qualifications & Compliance

    • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Cerebral Palsy preferred.
    • Patient, dependable, and adaptable approach
    • Strong communication and observation skills
    • Ability to provide hands-on assistance as needed
    • Two forms of valid identification
    • Current CPR and First Aid certification
    • Live Scan fingerprint clearance
    • Current TB test clearance
