Indirect Procurement Project Specialist to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $35/hr - $45/hr
Position Overview: The Indirect Procurement Project Specialist will support a company-wide procurement transformation initiative. This individual will partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to execute sourcing projects, analyze spend, negotiate commercial terms, and deliver measurable cost savings across a variety of indirect spend categories. This is a highly collaborative, project-focused role suited for a procurement professional who is comfortable managing multiple sourcing initiatives, conducting financial analysis, and working directly with suppliers to obtain and evaluate competitive quotes.
Responsibilities of the Indirect Procurement Project Specialist:- Lead RFQs, RFPs, competitive bids, supplier benchmarking, and market-testing activities.
- Engage suppliers to obtain quotes, assess capabilities, and evaluate sourcing options.
- Manage multiple procurement and outsourcing projects across indirect spend categories.
- Analyze spend, supplier proposals, pricing models, service levels, and total cost of ownership.
- Develop financial comparisons, sourcing recommendations, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Track initiatives from opportunity identification through supplier selection, implementation, and savings realization.
- Partner with stakeholders to define requirements, specifications, risks, and evaluation criteria.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, service levels, payment terms, contracts, and overall commercial value.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, improve performance, and reduce unnecessary spend.
- Collaborate with Legal and internal stakeholders to implement new or amended supplier agreements.
- Maintain sourcing documentation and report on project status, risks, savings, and implementation progress.
Required Experience/Skills for the Indirect Procurement Project Specialist:- Two or more years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience conducting RFQs, RFPs, supplier comparisons, market tests, or competitive bidding events.
- Experience communicating directly with suppliers, obtaining quotes, and supporting commercial negotiations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate spend data, pricing, supplier proposals, and financial information.
- Experience partnering with internal stakeholders to define requirements and implement sourcing decisions.
- Understanding of pricing models, rate cards, service-level expectations, payment terms, contract terms, and total cost of ownership.
- Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities within a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Proficiency with Excel and experience using ERP, procurement, or spend-management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Indirect Procurement Project Specialist:- Experience sourcing within one or more indirect spend categories.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or similarly complex operational environment.
- Training or certification in project management, CIPS, ISM, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
