Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Job summary:
This role supports a specialized manufacturing operation focused on the assembly and maintenance of complex industrial systems. The environment emphasizes precision workmanship, disciplined processes, and long-term equipment reliability, providing experienced mechanics the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced machinery in a technically demanding setting.
Responsibilities:
* Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly of moderately complex subassemblies with close tolerances.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide assembly, fitting, and alignment.
* Measure, mark, and lay out components using rulers, squares, dividers, scribes, and calculators.
* Adjust, align, trim, file, grind, buff, or smooth components using hand tools and power equipment.
* Inspect and test completed assemblies using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
* Apply basic math skills, including fractions and standard calculations, during setup and assembly work.
* Use common hand tools safely and effectively.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following safety policies and procedures.
* Collaborate within a team environment and complete additional assigned tasks to support production objectives.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar industrial mechanical or machinery assembly work
* Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly symbols.
* Mechanical aptitude and ability to take direction within a team-based environment.
* Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* High school diploma or equivalent education.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
* Comfort working in manufacturing environments with noise, confined spaces, and mechanical or electrical hazards (with PPE provided).
* Availability to work a standard first-shift, daytime manufacturing schedule.
Preferences:
* Experience with vacuum systems, induction furnaces, or metal processing equipment.
* Experience operating overhead or jib cranes; rigging experience preferred.
* Familiarity with forklifts, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
* Vocational or technical training in a mechanical discipline.
