A day in this role

Your shift kicks off with a handoff from the previous crew. Within minutes, you’re tracing a drive fault through a PLC trend screen, popping open a cabinet to scope a noisy signal, and coordinating with operators to bring a line back to full speed. By midday, you’ve tuned a PID loop to stabilize temperature control, swapped in a compatible sensor when the OEM part isn’t in stock, and documented a corrective action to prevent a repeat failure. Before the day wraps, you verify Ethernet device health, update controlled edits in the program, and walk the floor to spot issues before they become downtime.

Compensation, Schedule, and Location

  • Starting Pay: $40 – $50/hr
  • Location: 910 Elm St, Mckinney, TX 75069
  • Schedule: 7pm–7am & 7am–7pm (Nights/Day Shift Available)

The work you’ll do

  • Diagnose, repair, and return to service plant machinery and electrical systems across multiple production lines.
  • Maintain and optimize AC/DC drives, motors, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Blend mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic know‑how to keep assets running at peak reliability.
  • Troubleshoot faults in motors, drives, circuits, electronic components, and plant-wide controls.
  • Read and apply wiring diagrams, schematics, control drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Navigate PLC programs for troubleshooting, communications diagnostics, and controlled program edits.
  • Support Ethernet-based networks, including device commissioning, network analysis, and integration.
  • Use diagnostic instruments—multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized electrical tools—to test equipment.
  • Source and qualify alternate electrical components when original parts are unavailable.
  • Identify root causes of failures and drive corrective actions that elevate safety, quality, and uptime.

What you bring

  • Advanced knowledge of AC and DC drive systems and power electronics.
  • Expertise with speed feedback devices (theory, setup, and operation).
  • Hands-on experience with temperature controls, sensors, and thermal components.
  • Strong command of PID control, control logic, and automated process behavior.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet communications, industrial networks, and connectivity issues.
  • Proficiency with PLCs and HMIs, including communications paths, program navigation, and controlled edits.
  • Deep understanding of electrical circuits, components, and safe diagnostic practices.
  • Proven capability to diagnose, test, and repair motors, drives, and electrical control systems.
  • Fluency with diagnostic instruments and electrical test equipment.
  • Resourcefulness in selecting suitable alternative components when OEM parts aren’t available.

Work environment and physical demands

Fast-paced production setting with exposure to:

  • Loud noise and hot/cold temperature extremes.
  • Both indoor and outdoor tasks.
  • Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Regular use of hands for tools, diagnostic devices, and electrical components.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs while bending, twisting, or standing.
