As our Industrial Coatings Color Match Technician, you’ll turn raw steel and metal components into finished, high-quality products through exacting color formulation and expert spray application in a fast-paced manufacturing/fabrication setting.
A Day in the Role
Your day begins by reviewing job travelers, specifications, and color formulas. You’ll blend small and large batches to exact shades, prepare steel parts (cleaning, sanding, masking), then set up your spray equipment to apply uniform coatings. After curing, you’ll verify color accuracy and finish consistency, document results, and keep your booth and tools in top condition—always working safely with proper PPE.
What You’ll Do
Formulate and blend paints, coatings, and finishes to match precise color targets
Spray-apply coatings to steel and other metal substrates using professional equipment
Interpret job orders, specs, and color mix formulas with accuracy
Execute thorough surface prep: degreasing, sanding, masking, and cleaning
Inspect completed parts for shade accuracy, uniformity, and overall quality
Maintain, calibrate, and clean guns, pumps, cups, and mixing tools
Follow all EHS protocols and use required PPE at all times
