Build the systems that power precision

Our mission is simple: produce optical fiber with exceptional quality and reliability. As an Industrial Control Systems Engineer in our Automation group, you will architect, refine, and sustain the PC and PLC control strategies that make that mission possible.

Your mission

  • Design, develop, and maintain PLC programs governing manufacturing processes and support equipment across production and facilities.
  • Serve as a go-to controls and automation resource for optical fiber manufacturing, spanning PC-based control, PLC logic, and operator interfaces.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with technical staff to resolve daily issues tied to equipment and control software.
  • Drive the commissioning of new production equipment from initial checkout through stable operation.
  • Ensure proper backups of all programs and critical support files are maintained per plant standards.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 HSE guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.

Your toolkit

  • B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Practical experience programming Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Schneider, and or Siemens PLCs.
  • Exceptional analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to champion and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills across functions and shifts.
  • High standards for detail, quality, and documentation.
  • Comfort operating with minimal supervision.

Bonus experience

  • Fiber optic or similarly high-automation manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in IEC programming languages: Ladder, Sequential function charts, Structured text, and Function Block Diagrams.
  • Hands-on work with Profibus, Ethernet, and Modbus+ networks.
  • HMI development including PC-to-PLC and PC-to-Database data transactions.
  • Servo drive and motion controller programming.

Why this role matters

Every robust interlock, well-structured routine, and verified backup safeguards production continuity and product quality. Your craftsmanship in controls translates directly to stable operations and continuous improvement across the plant.
