Core duties

  • Install, service, and repair electrical systems for automated packaging machines, conveyors, labeling equipment, and robotic arms.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, motor controls, sensors, relays, and drives (VFDs/servos) to quickly restore operation.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals to execute precise repairs and upgrades.
  • Execute preventive maintenance plans that minimize downtime and enhance equipment safety and reliability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production to resolve issues efficiently and prevent recurrences.
  • Program/modify PLCs—Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and similar platforms—to support process improvements and equipment changes.
  • Record all maintenance activities, repairs, and installations with clear, accurate documentation.
  • Comply with lockout/tagout and OSHA standards; model safe work practices.
  • Support training of maintenance staff in electrical troubleshooting techniques and best practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certificate or associate degree in electrical technology preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing or packaging setting.
  • Strong command of industrial power and automation: 480V 3-phase, control panels, and integrated control systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and safety circuits.
  • Competent with diagnostic tools: multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes.
