Description

Role Overview

It’s late, the plant is quiet, and production is counting on you. As an off-shift Industrial Controls Electrician in Muskegon County, MI, you’ll own the troubleshooting, maintenance, instrumentation, and repair of the electrical and electronic systems that keep operations running safely and reliably.

What You’ll Do (A Day in the Life)

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical power, control, and instrumentation systems across production and facility equipment.
  • Install, inspect, and test electrical/electronic components to verify performance and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Resolve complex faults in controls and instrumentation to reduce downtime and protect throughput.
  • Read and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to support accurate repairs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and calibrate drives, sensors, and control devices.
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, and production teams on upgrades and process improvements.
  • Follow all electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout and compliance protocols.
  • Document work performed and maintain thorough maintenance records meeting company and regulatory expectations.
  • Offer technical guidance and training to peers and operations personnel as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to elevate safety, reliability, and equipment performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay: up to $38.50 per hour

Location & Schedule

Based in Muskegon County, MI; off-shift role supporting around-the-clock operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Possess a minimum of one of the following:

Preferred

  • Master Electrician License
  • Proven skill in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and controls
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial automation
  • Strong problem-solving ability; effective working independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
