The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.Position OverviewAs an Industrial Controls Engineer, the general role is to provide turn‑key automated solutions specializing in PLC programming, HMI development, software installations, with minimal electrical work. This position is expected to complete difficult troubleshooting for customers with some direction from senior and lead level personnel. The Industrial Programmer will report to the Automation Manager and will work primarily out of the Morgantown location.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support and onsite troubleshooting and repair for customersSupport commissioning efforts for new projects and systems onsite at customer facilitiesResolve operational problems related to current systems or new projectsEnsure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completedSupport manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFDs, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integrationCreate customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawingsMaintain accurate records and files according to quality standards and customer requirementsModify systems upon customer's request and document the amendments accordinglyWorking ConditionsWalk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb ladders and stairs; crawl; kneelThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds unassisted.Must be safety and customer‑focused, without exception.Valid driver's license.Travel as required (25‑50% at times) to support projects. Travel time is paid.Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs, including possible work involving emergency call‑out, extended hours and some out‑of‑town and overnight work.Willingness to undergo a thorough background and drug screening process.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.3+ years of experience in process control and automation.Familiar with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.Strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000/500.Working experience and knowledge with HMI/OIT development using Rockwell and/or Wonderware software platforms.Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.Critical thinking with exceptional problem‑solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in a high‑output environment.Ability to balance multiple projects.Working knowledge of MS Office productivity software.Good understanding of mechanical principals is a plus.Preferred if candidate has 80‑hour underground certification within the first 6 months of employment.Company InformationWE ARE NOW EMPLOYEE OWNED.
