    Job Description

    Industrial Controls Maintenance Electrician

    Location: Euclid

Picture your day starting on the plant floor in Euclid, where advanced welding, cutting, and automation equipment power a global manufacturing leader. Under general supervision, you’ll take ownership of keeping complex machines and systems safe, available, and at peak performance. Your direction comes from the Group Leader and a Machine Repair Electrician A, and you report directly to the department Manager. The schedule is primarily first shift, but you’re ready when operations call—second or third shift, split shifts, 12-hour rotations, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage.

    What you’ll tackle

    • Own off-shift priorities: assess production needs and safety requirements to determine what must be fixed first.
    • Diagnose, adjust, and repair automated equipment, process systems, robotic cells, and combustion systems so they run reliably and safely.
    • Plan and execute preventive maintenance; recommend upgrades that improve uptime, capability, and yield.
    • Analyze equipment failures, both scheduled and unscheduled; document findings and corrective actions for regulatory purposes.
    • Commission and validate new equipment installations—configure controls, test functionality, and ensure work is clearly documented.
    • Support engineering on test rigs and fixtures; collect, compile, and summarize test data to resolve product or equipment issues.
    • Perform bench repairs on production equipment and spare assemblies; oversee maintenance contracts and vendor service as assigned.
    • Order, track, and maintain spare parts; keep neat, accurate maintenance records.
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Manager, Group Leaders, and peers to achieve results.
    • Report maintenance and safety concerns immediately; contribute to procedure and equipment upgrades.
    • Rotate between Mentor and Euclid facilities as training or job needs require.

    How you’ll work

    • Follow all company specifications, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Perform efficiently and safely, offering guidance to less experienced electricians.
    • Adapt your schedule to meet operational goals; be prepared for weekends, off-shifts, holidays, and on-call assignments.
    • Take on additional responsibilities in support of the Company’s Strategy as needed.

    Skills and experience you bring

    • Completion of an Electrician Apprentice Program, an Associate degree/certificate in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience.
    • Successful completion of the skilled trade assessment for this role.
    • Foundational troubleshooting skills in electrical systems; familiarity with combustion and/or hydraulic systems is helpful or may be required.
    • Working knowledge of relay logic, industrial controls, electronics, and PLCs.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and engineering drawings.
    • Competence using a computer to interface with machine control systems and PLCs; able to diagnose root causes, make repairs, and verify proper operation.
    • Proficient with measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and megohmmeters.
    • Excellent attendance, organization, and communication skills.
    • Team-focused, self-motivated, safety- and quality-driven; works with minimal supervision.
    • Capable of occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs; mechanically inclined and able to operate hoists, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
    • Comfortable working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, and working at heights up to 30 feet.
    • Able to wear a respirator and accurately distinguish color codes on wires and electronic components.
    • Committed to continuous learning and able to understand and apply job-related specifications and procedures.

Selected candidate’s Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based upon qualifications and experiences.
