Industrial Designer
Location: High Point, NC Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑site
About the Role: We are seeking an Industrial Designer to support the design and development of consumer-level products from concept through production. This role is ideal for a designer who is eager to build hands-on experience, contribute creative ideas, and collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the end-to-end design process, including ideation, sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, and refinements
Translate creative concepts into functional, manufacturable designs
Develop CAD models, drawings, and basic renderings for product concepts
Assist in material selection, finishes, colors, and surface treatments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, sourcing, marketing)
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior designers and stakeholders
Support preparation of design documentation for tooling and manufacturing
Stay informed on consumer trends, materials, and design innovations
Other related tasks
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field
2 - 5 years of professional experience or relevant internships in product or industrial design
Foundational proficiency in CAD and design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, Onshape, Adobe Creative Suite)
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply basic engineering concepts
Strong sketching and visual communication skills
Basic understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
Ability to receive feedback, iterate designs, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing consumer products (home goods, lifestyle, electronics, furniture, or similar)
Exposure to mass production, tooling constraints, or supplier collaboration
Familiarity with prototype fabrication methods (3D printing, mock-ups)
Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, and aesthetics
