The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing electrical systems on production equipment. This role will ensure that all machinery is operating efficiently, with minimal downtime, to support production schedules and company goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing electrical problems in industrial equipment, following safety protocols, and working collaboratively with other maintenance and production teams.
The Industrial Electrician position pays $45.56/hour. The Industrial Electrician is also eligible for a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus.
JOB DUTIES:
Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical components of production machinery and equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including PLCs, motors, sensors, and wiring
Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure machinery uptime and optimal performance
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
Install, upgrade, and modify electrical systems as necessary to improve machine performance or safety
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to troubleshoot and solve complex equipment issues
Follow safety guidelines and company protocols for lockout/tagout, electrical work, and equipment operation
Maintain accurate records of all electrical repairs, replacements, and maintenance performed
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment performance and reliability
Assist in the planning and implementation of new equipment installations and modifications
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Long pants, safety shoes, and safety glasses with side shields required.
Personal Protective Equipment as required according to job duties
No drinking or eating in designated areas
May be exposed to noise, varying temperatures, dirt and/or chemicals in some areas
Employees may be required to successfully complete location specific training to maintain eligibility for position
YOU MUST HAVE:
A Journeyman Electrical License valid in the State of Minnesota
3+ years of experience as an industrial or machine services electrician in a manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and machinery and professional experience working with PLCs, VFDs, and HMI systems
Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, including OSHA and NFPA standards
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as required
