TheIndustrialElectricianwillworkcloselywiththemaintenanceteamtominimize equipmentdowntime,safelytroubleshootcomplexelectricalissues,andensureall
electricalworkcomplieswiththeNationalElectricalCode(NEC),NFPA70E,andstrict GMP/SQFfoodsafetystandards.Thispositionplaysacriticalroleinsustainingheavy
industrialpowersystems,controls,andfacilityinfrastructureinafast-pacedenvironment.
KeyResponsibilities-
MaintenancesEquipment:·Troubleshoot,repair,andmaintainelectricalsystemson extrusionlines,PET/XPETprocessing,recyclingsystems,andthermoformingmachines.· Install,maintain,andtroubleshoot480V3-phasepowersystems,VariableFrequency Drives(VFDs),motors,transformers,andlightingsystems.·Diagnoseautomationand controlissuesusingPLCs(ProgrammableLogicControllers),HMIs,relays,andsensors.· Maintainandtroubleshootfacilityelectricalintegrations,includingmotorizedmakeupair
louvers, HVAC controls, fire alarm panels, and Class II combustible dust collection systems.
Safety, Compliance s Documentation:Champion a strong safety culture by strictly adhering to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) protocols, and utilizing proper PPE at all times. · Ensure all electrical work complies with OSHA, NEC, and environmental standards, particularly regarding hazardous location classifications
(CombustibleDustenvironments).·PerformallworkinaccordancewithGood
ManufacturingPractices(GMP)andSQFstandards,ensuringconduit,panels,andrepairs posezerocross-contaminationorForeignMaterial(FM)risk.·Maintainaccurate
maintenancerecords,workorders,andupdatedelectricalschematics.
StartupsExpansionSupport:Activelyparticipateinstartupoperations,equipment
installations,lineexpansions,andcapacityincreasesbyrunningconduit,pullingwire,and terminatingconnections.·Supportcommissioning,debugging,andramp-upofnew
equipmentandcontrolprocesses.·Helpbuildandstandardizeelectricalspareparts programsanddocumentationsuitableforagrowingoperation.
Preventative Maintenance Continuous Improvement:Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on critical electrical panels, motors, and facility systems (e.g., thermal imaging, connection tightening). · Analyze electrical downtime trends and root causes to drive corrective actions and process improvements. · Implement reliability best practices to improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and overall equipment uptime.
Requirements-
Education/Certification:HighSchoolDiplomaorequivalentrequired.AvalidState
JourneymanElectricianLicense,oranAssociate’sDegreeinElectrical/Electromechanical Technology,orcompletionofaformalapprenticeshipprogramishighlypreferred.·
Experience:Minimumof3to5yearsofprovenexperienceasanIndustrialElectricianina manufacturingorproductionenvironment(Plastics,thermoforming,orfoodCbeverage manufacturing experience is a strong plus).
Technical Skills: Strongproficiencywith 480V/277V and 208V/120V systems. Abilityto read andinterpret complexelectricalschematics, blueprints, andequipmentmanuals. WorkingknowledgeofPLCtroubleshooting(Allen-Bradley,Siemens,etc.).
SafetyKnowledge:ComprehensiveunderstandingofOSHAelectricalsafetyregulations, LOTO,andtheNEC.Priorexperienceworkingincombustibledustenvironments(ClassII locations) is highly desirable.
WorkSchedule:Flexibilitytosupporton-callrotationandoff-shiftcoveragetoensure continuous 24/7 operations.
PhysicalDemands:Abilitytostand,walk,bend,kneel,andclimbladders/stairsfor
extendedperiods.Mustbeabletosafelyliftto50lbs.andoperatehigh-reachequipment (scissorlifts,boomlifts).MustcomplywithallGMPfacilitygrowingrequirements.
