Industrial Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician (Level I/II)

Location: Richmond, VA

Compensation: $22.38–$27.38 per hour, plus excellent benefits

Schedule: 40-hour week on 4x10s with early AM and early PM start options; flexibility required to cover weekends and holidays as needed

A day in this role

You arrive for an early shift, review the preventive maintenance plan, and begin with a safety walk. A conveyor is due for inspection, a boiler alarm needs investigating, and a production line has an intermittent electrical fault. You lock out/tag out, diagnose with a multimeter, swap a faulty component, and log the repair. By midday you’ve coordinated with Operations to optimize overall equipment effectiveness, mentored a junior tech on TIG basics, and documented PMs. Before clocking out, you update records, hand off to the next shift, and prep tooling for tomorrow’s assignments.

What you will do

  • Safety compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations; identify hazards and implement corrective actions to keep the workplace safe.
  • Preventive maintenance: Perform routine inspections and scheduled PMs to keep equipment running reliably.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs: Diagnose and correct mechanical and electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Operational support: Partner with other departments to sustain and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and PM tasks.
  • Team collaboration: Coordinate tasks, share know‑how, and provide technical support across the maintenance team.
  • Training and mentoring: Guide junior technicians to build skills and transfer knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications preferred
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting capability
  • Proficient with basic hand tools
