Job Summary

An Industrial Engineer is one with foundational knowledge of Industrial Processes, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and will use it to improve Operational Excellence within manufacturing, service, and distribution processes. An Industrial Engineer will support deploying, maintaining, and improving technical programs and processes for site Industrial Engineering, manufacturing operations, plant safety, continuous improvement, calibration/preventative maintenance, and on-the-job training programs. An Industrial Engineer will support execution of strategic projects and efforts aligned with business objectives. An Industrial Engineer will also execute needed ongoing operational support by utilizing knowledge of industrial engineering principles and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma.

Essential Functions
  • Lead collaboration with team members, supervisors, and other engineers to reduce cost and cycle time by improving processes through bottleneck and material flow analysis, optimizing plant layout, time and motion study, and problem solving techniques.
  • Supports execution of plans for Operational Excellence, strategic objectives including Lean/Six-Sigma and other total-cost improvement projects related to business objectives
  • Completes studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Analyze and improve the sequence of operations and process flow to safely maximize productivity of people, equipment, and facilities.
  • Supports activities to maintain and audit accurate labor standards through the use of standardized time study methods.
  • Ensure adequate facilities capacity, floor space, and utilities to support plant operations, and maintain current facilities layout drawings.
  • Supports collaboration with divisional safety, engineering, and production leaders to develop and deploy site operations safety programs.
  • Supports collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Production, Systems, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality Engineering to implement and improve processes.
  • Support the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and service tools, fixtures, equipment, and systems while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop efficient, effective systems for capturing critical process metrics for manufacturing operations as required
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with line design and make necessary changes where needed.
  • Follow all established policies, rules, regulations and procedures.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of Manufacturing Operations experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in the Medical Industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • In depth experience in LEAN Manufacturing
  • Ability to teach Lean concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong knowledge in operational and business metrics
  • Supply-chain knowledge preferred
  • General Safety knowledge
  • Knowledge or use of ERP systems preferred
  • Knowledge of use of Documentation Control systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Proven success in project management skills

The annual salary for this position is:

$70,000.00 to $85,000.00
