We're looking for a high-energy, self‑motivated, industrial engineer to help us grow our market-leading position. As an Industrial Engineer, you'll be an integral member of the Indianapolis Carrier Excellence Team and work alongside industrial engineers, operations leaders and continuous improvement to ensure the production lines are balanced to improve flow and increase productivity.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategic and tactical capacity models based on time studies and downtime analysisDesign the layout for each work cell to promote flow and operator efficiencyAnalyze the current process to identify and remove wasteDesign flexible workstations to efficiently respond to fluctuating seasonal demandSplit work content to balance each line and identify required labor to meet demandDefine work content per cell and create visual standard workDefine what material is required at each work cellEnsure all operators have all the training and materials in their new work cells to enable them to be successfulAnalyze current process to identify and mitigate ergonomic riskMaintain layout (in AutoCAD)Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED3+ years experience in an engineering capacity within a manufacturing environmentPreferred QualificationsBachelor Degree in EngineeringMA/MS Industrial Engineering degree with 1+ years of experienceLean manufacturing, cell design, and line balancing experienceDevelopment of standard visual workCapacity modeling and planningDemonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership qualitiesStrong organization skillsAbility to communicate clearly across all levels of leadership and with external customers and suppliersMicrosoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCADThe ability to quickly learn new computer systemsEffective at working with stakeholders at all organization levelsExcellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex ideas simplyAbility to prioritize and manage multiple priorities gracefully under pressureDemonstrated leadership and motivation in a complex work environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to facilitate and motivate teamsUnderstanding of lean principles and systems thinking to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiativesExcellent project management skills and ability to be self-drivenHighly motivated, organized and flexible individual that is customer and results focusedPay RangeThe annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually.
