Tesla's LFP Cell Manufacturing team at our Reno/Tahoe Campus (Gigafactory Nevada) in the beautiful Tahoe region is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to support and sustain cutting-edge manufacturing processes for our Energy Products. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production, material flow, and efficiency in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

  • Assist in capacity planning and labor forecasting for manufacturing areas, using data analysis to support operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with operations, management, and stakeholders to assess productivity metrics, optimize staffing, and implement labor plans aligned with goals and budgets
  • Support the development of optimization models for inventory, job scheduling, material requirements, and flow processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and scalability, applying Lean, PDCA, and other methodologies
  • Contribute to site layout optimizations for production, material flow, and facilities using tools like AutoCAD
  • Conduct time studies, standard time analysis, and basic data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Help maintain manufacturing data, plans, and systems, with guidance from senior team members
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to drive projects and solve ambiguous problems at a systems level
  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2-7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Basic proficiency in tools like AutoCAD for layouts and standard time methods (e.g., MTM, MOST); training available
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative team spirit
  • Eagerness to learn and demonstrated problem-solving abilities in dynamic settings
  • Familiarity with discrete event simulation software (e.g., ARENA, FlexSim), SQL, or Python
