Electrification & Automation The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today's and tomorrow's power grid! The Knightdale facility will deliver integrated electrical skid assemblies that combine power distribution and power conversion equipment with protection and automation systems. Electrical skids provide outdoor rated, modular, value-add solutions for key vertical markets to improve delivery reliability and lower total cost of ownership for customers. We are looking for an Industrial Engineer. This position will report into our new Knightdale, NC facility. Relocation assistance is available. Overview In this role, you will help improve how work gets done across manufacturing by analyzing production processes, designing efficient work systems, supporting equipment/layout planning, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will partner closely with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, logistics, and external suppliers to improve safety, productivity, cost, quality, and overall manufacturing performance. You'll make an impact by: Designing and improving manufacturing work systems, production flow, equipment layouts, and material movement to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. Conducting time studies, motion studies, capacity analysis, and labor planning to establish production standards and identify improvement opportunities. Leading continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, ergonomics, quality, throughput, waste reduction, and process stability. Supporting new product introductions, production line setup, equipment ramp-up, and process readiness for manufacturing launch. Analyzing manufacturing and logistics processes to identify bottlenecks, root causes, and opportunities for standardized work and improved performance. Developing process documentation, work instructions, performance metrics, and training materials to support production teams and sustain improvements. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production process improvement, or production line support. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with hands-on exposure to production processes, equipment layouts, workflow improvement, and/or labor standards. Experience conducting time studies, process analysis, capacity planning, or continuous improvement activities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to analyze data, communicate findings, and present recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting electrical, mechanical, engineered-to-order, or capital equipment manufacturing environments. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, standard work, value stream mapping, or root cause problem solving. Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk tools, Revit, or similar software used for layouts, workflow planning, or production design. Experience supporting new production equipment ramp-up, production launch, or manufacturing process development. Familiarity with manufacturing metrics such as labor efficiency, throughput, productivity, utilization, cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
