Job Description

  • We are seeking Career Level Industrial Engineers to support the Executive Fleet program. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering concepts to develop operating plans and recovery plans, conduct capacity and constraint-based analysis, develop and refine precedence networks, and conduct overall process effectiveness studies.
  • You will also have opportunities to develop, implement, and improve processes focused on lowering costs and improving schedule performance and quality. Candidates must be able to operate within a multifunctional team, coordinating with various departments. This position will be 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX. Candidate must be a US citizen.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops operating plans and recovery plans as needed.
  • Develops models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data, including statistics, operations research, trends, and production impacts, and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation with customers, including management, senior leadership, other departments, and suppliers.
  • Develops, implements, and improves processes to enhance schedule performance, lower costs, and improve quality through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
  • Utilizes experience and expertise to determine technical objectives of assignments; defines and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects. Performs risk analysis using project management tools, including work breakdown structures, precedence networks, and resource allocation.
  • Provides support to complete various projects as needed.
  • Uses engineering methods, including mathematical models, simulations, and statistics, to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources, including facilities, personnel, materials, and equipment, in the creation and validation of operating plans.
  • Under general direction, analyzes and designs value streams, including capability, capacity, make/buy decisions, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance, throughput, workflow, and logistics, including critical path, lead time, transportation, and factory layout.
  • Interacts with other employees to gather data for process improvements. This may include observing and documenting processes and collecting data in manufacturing areas or on aircraft during various production phases.
  • Schedules work plans and conducts data analysis, including historical data, trends, production impacts, staffing, and process improvements.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 1 to 6 years of experience with project planning, scheduling, and project management.
  • 1 to 6+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer in a factory environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, manufacturing planning, engineering drawings and specifications, and Lean concepts. Lean certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with programming languages and analytical tools such as Python, SAS, VBA, SQL, and Minitab.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aircraft or aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience with 3D computer-aided design tools such as IVT.
  • Experience with Boeing standard scheduling tools such as Aurora.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • 1 to 6+ years of experience conducting or leading time studies and reporting results to leadership.
  • Cost Account Management experience with applied Earned Value Management principles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and enter aircraft via steps or ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Education and Experience
