Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.As a US Expansion Planning Engineer, you will be a key contact in preparing for production in a new high volume memory manufacturing facility in Boise, Idaho, calculating and presenting capital impacts of processes that will be introduced at the site to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D.Responsibilities Collaborate with partners to drive future tool and process roadmaps, and calculate network capacity impacts of process changesComplete financial analyses before new capital equipment is purchased, including metrics optimization, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurposeHandle site tool utilization and capacity planning models to optimize the site's deployed capitalApply new (e.g. Python, SQL, R) and traditional (Excel, VBA) methods to improve and automate tasks in the planning system/modelsDesign, track, and communicate capital change proposals through formal presentations to manufacturing senior leaders utilizing required reporting tools (Power BI and Tableau)Optimize capacity of equipment base and lead site- and tool-level optimization studies for efficiency improvementBuild and implement tools to audit manufacturing capital efficiency and identify cost reduction opportunitiesLead and communicate improvement opportunities and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in manufacturingMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial EngineeringMinimum of 2 years experience with semiconductor capacity planning and capital equipment planning requiredMinimum 2 years of experience using Python and SQL to craft and develop visualization and web-based reporting metrics, influencing data driven insights in a semiconductor manufacturing environmentSemiconductor experiencePreferred Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in a business-related or quantitative fieldExperience turning sophisticated and ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions while working in a highly multi-functional environmentProven ability to successfully analyze and interpret data, drawing conclusions, recommending actions, and reporting results across diverse technical and non-technical groupsDemonstrated ability to operate independently while maintaining a high degree of organization and control and establishing successful working relationships with cross-functional teamsExperience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processesMicron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
