Job Summary: Preparation of Cost Estimates and Engineering Documentation for New and Revised Products.
Function of Position:
- Gather/Calculate all estimating data for Sales Cost Requests
- Submit RFQ's to Purchasing Department for new or modified materials.
- Obtain and Review Tooling Quotes from Manufacturing/Tool Engineers
- Input of proposed manufacturing methods into ERP Estimating/Quoting Module
- Writing Engineering Orders for new products and changes to existing products
- Input of approved BOM and Routing updates to ERP system.
- Preparation of detailed Process Work Instructions
- Production print generation and revisions using Solidworks.
- Participate in weekly Sales/Engineering Cost/Design Review Meeting
- Additional Tasks may include…
- Motion and Time Study for Process Rate Determination
- Actual cost versus estimated cost audits
Requirements
Ideal Skills:
- Proficiency using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, or related software.
- Solid mechanical aptitude.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Methods.
- Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the office and factory floor.
Required Qualifications :
- Education - Two-year technical or financial degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
