Industrial Estimator Requirements 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a subject like project management, construction management, or drafting & design
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, structural steel, manufacturing processes, and industrial construction techniques
  • Ability to accurately follow schematics, blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Professional communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), an ERP like Epicor Kinetic, video communication tools like Zoom, design software like CAD, AutoCAD, or SOLIDWORKS, and Overland conveyor software

 

Bonuses

  • Proficiency with material-handling equipment
  • Experience in mechanical conveying, industrial construction, or project management
  • Familiarity with low- to medium-voltage electric control systems and motors

 

What your days will look like 

Our Industrial Estimator typically works from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

 

You'll be a key player in our business's continued growth, helping to secure more projects and drive revenue in the conveyor design space. Organization and attention to detail are vital, as you may be estimating and coordinating job details for multiple projects at once. You'll maintain engineering and sales documentation and track bid opportunities in our ERP to stay organized.

 

Attentively, you'll review technical specifications and drawings for potential projects and create a competitive bid package that includes material takeoffs, cost estimates, and preliminary layouts. You'll learn all the project details, estimate labor and timelines, professionally present proposals, and encourage prospects to choose us for their unique material-handling needs. You'll prepare sales contracts and review plans to ensure they comply with all safety policies and industry regulations. Additionally, you'll support internal teams in researching and developing new products or offerings to keep us competitive in the industry.
