Industrial Field Service Operations Manager

Picture your morning: the dashboard shows every crew dispatched, preventive maintenance windows aligned with customer uptime, and an urgent call already triaged. By mid-day, you’re on a site walk-through verifying OSHA compliance and equipment quality. Before close, you’ve coached a tech on complex troubleshooting, reviewed job costing on a critical repair, and called a customer to confirm next steps on an upgrade recommendation. That’s a typical day leading our field service program.

What You’ll Own

  • Daily Service Orchestration — Plan schedules and dispatch for service, inspections, and repairs; drive on-time completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency responses; monitor productivity and workmanship.
  • People Leadership — Hire, train, coach, and mentor technicians and service coordinators; conduct reviews; champion a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork; ensure all certifications, training, and compliance standards are current.
  • Customer Advocacy — Serve as the main point of contact for updates, recommendations, and escalations; build lasting relationships that lead to repeat business; translate service reports into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Quality, Safety, and Compliance — Verify work meets manufacturer, industry, and safety requirements; perform jobsite walk-throughs, safety checks, and audits; enforce OSHA rules, company safety policies, PPE use, and documentation.
  • Administrative and Financial Stewardship — Review/approve quotes, work orders, timecards, and job records; support budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning; track KPIs like backlog, response time, profitability, and labor utilization; assist with pricing, job costing, and invoice review.
  • Continuous Improvement — Reduce downtime and streamline workflows using technician feedback, data analysis, and proactive problem-solving.
