Industrial Gear Technical Buyer

About the Role

BASIC PURPOSE: Currently, this position involves, but is not limited to, responsibilities within the IG Logistics department, consisting of procurement of required parts for customer orders and supplies to support the IG Assembly facility and provide interdepartmental technical support

PAY RANGE: $22-$24/Hr.

This is an onsite 1st shift position

Education: Associates or Certification in technical, mechanical or electrical studies required. Bachelors or higher degree in technical, mechanical or electrical studies preferred.

• Must have Engineering, machine shop or technical work experience.
• Ability to read and understand parts lists, catalogs, data sheets, dimension drawings, price books and other technical documents.
• Ability to research, read and understand SEW work standards as well as International standards (ISO, DIN, ASTM, etc.)
• Must have knowledge and/or understand fabrication processes of various types of parts.
• Possess strong overall office skills, including use of computers, their applications, and other office equipment.

Top 5 tasks for this position:

• Obtain and compare quotes from approved vendors for best pricing and part accuracy.
• Monitor the non-conformance parts list and work with the appropriate parties to resolve non-conformance part issues with our suppliers.
• Purchase Order (PO) creation- Domestic and International parts.
• Monitor open/late PO's.
• Preform and submit supplier assessments.

A 10% shift premium is paid for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
