Description
Location: Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC), Maryland
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace hazard assessments and exposure evaluations
- Perform noise monitoring and support hearing conservation efforts
- Conduct respirator fit testing and recommend PPE
- Develop and maintain radiation safety and dosimetry programs
- Respond to safety incidents and provide 24/7 on-call support
- Prepare clear, timely reports and documentation
- Perform annual inspections and program reviews
- Support occupational medical surveillance activities
- Serve as Chemical Hygiene Officer and manage chemical safety programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Minimum 4 years of industrial hygiene experience
- Experience with hazard recognition, evaluation, and control
- Ability to make independent professional judgments
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
