What We Offer:

The Industrial Hygienist will assist with designing and implementing an industrial hygiene program to monitor, assess and resolve health and safety issues related to the prevention of infections, with a focus on construction.  

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.  
  •  Experience: Minimum four years’ experience in industrial hygiene; experience in construction, required. Experience in healthcare, preferred.       
  • Licensure/ certification / registration: American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certification, required. Degree in industrial hygiene/safety, environmental, preferred.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. Keen observational and reporting skills. Diplomacy and leadership skills in addressing issues with management and team members. Good judgement, attention to detail excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
What You'll Do:
  • Provides oversight for Infection Prevention involvement in construction projects, including partnership with Plant Engineering and Construction. Coordinates Infection Preventionists as relates to the ICRA process.
  • Collaborates with Plant Engineering and Construction to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions, especially as related to infectious agents. 
  • Collects samples of dust, gasses, vapors and other potentially infectious/toxic materials as needed for analysis.
  • Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment and other conditions which may affect patient and/or employee health related to infectious agents, especially related to construction projects.
  • Prepares reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
  • Develops and participates in education meetings to instruct team members and contracted construction firms in matters pertaining to occupational health and prevention of infection.
  • Evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes maintenance of a sanitary environment, with focus on construction.
