    Description

We are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at an unprecedented scale. The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot.

The Terafab team is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to proactively manage EHS risks and drive engineering controls and safeguards upstream into the Austin Fab and related equipment design, construction, commissioning, and production.

    • Complete health risk assessments and industrial hygiene analyses for materials with and without consensus occupational exposure limits
    • Provide support on the factory floor and in-design reviews, by conducting air, noise, and chemical monitoring and modeling to drive decision making across cross-functional teams to manage health, environment, and operational risks
    • Produce structured industrial hygiene reports, training content, and other written communications to share industrial hygiene matters and engage the workforce, engineering, and management teams
    • Determine appropriate levels of engineering, administrative, or PPE controls for chemical, radiological, biological and/or noise hazards; verify control effectiveness and lead continuous improvement initiatives, as appropriate
    • Integrate industrial hygiene into the EHS Management System and partner with affected teams to ensure sustained success
    • Assist with medical surveillance compliance, and manage third-party consultants, lab testing, purchase orders, and project budgets as needed
    • Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, Health Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety, or related discipline; Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent experience
    • 5+ years' as an industrial hygienist or IH-focused EHS professional in semiconductor industry or chemical manufacturing
    • Advanced knowledge and extensive practice in the anticipation, identification, assessment, and control of chemical and physical hazards along with ability to engage stakeholders critical to sustained industrial hygiene risk management
    • Experience designing or facilitating chemical or physical exposure controls through substitution or engineering methods, such as using ventilation, enclosures, damping, and process efficiencies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.), AI tools, and Occupational Health databases and applications
    • Experience with operation of medical surveillance and related programs including respirator medical clearance, audiometry, and substance-specific examinations
    • Capable of working in a construction and manufacturing environment on your feet with occasional stair and ladder climbing as well as occasional respirator and related PPE usage.
