Shape the Future of Heavy Industrial Machines

Join a global manufacturer of industrial machinery as an Electrical Design Engineer based primarily onsite at our Franklin, PA facility. In this role, you’ll use modern CAD tools to design and develop the electrical components that power rugged, high-performance equipment used in demanding environments.

A Day in the Life

Your day begins on the shop floor, validating a test setup you created to meet well-defined requirements. By mid-morning, you’re collaborating with a cross-functional team to streamline a design for manufacturability and cost. In the afternoon, you’re refining a controls enclosure in CAD, then meeting with a supplier to align on updated component specs. You finish the day reviewing field data from a recent trip to a mine site, proposing corrective actions to improve reliability.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver engineering projects that develop, maintain, and support components, products, and services in line with market needs and continuous improvement goals.
  • Conduct investigations, calculations, and tests with clear requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Create conceptual and strategic solutions to technical challenges that arise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Own your professional learning and development for mutual growth.
  • Provide group leadership for teammates supporting components, products, services, and process improvement activities.
  • Support effective communication of engineering topics to ensure compliance with global design and product safety standards and best practices.
  • Help streamline engineering processes for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting products and services.
  • Engage in effective Change Management to achieve organizational objectives by driving the right behaviors.

Hands-On Focus

  • Supervise small groups executing specific tasks, projects, or functions.
  • Review current designs and assigned components to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Diagnose field issues and propose appropriate corrective actions.
  • Meet with suppliers regarding product changes or new requirements.
  • Perform assigned engineering evaluations, including calculations and testing; collaborate with senior Engineers/Technologists or CTE for resolution when needed.
  • Set up and run engineering tests that satisfy well-defined criteria.
  • Stay current with global and regional regulations, standards, and industry guidelines relevant to our products.
  • Travel to mine sites to observe equipment in operation, understand application parameters, identify problems, and recommend solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline (required).
  • Approximately 4 years of experience in engineering design, machine application, or the mining industry (desired).
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (desired).
  • Exposure to Lean Engineering principles (desired).
