Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Aerospace Manufacturing (AS9100)

About the role

Alloy Precision Technologies (APT) is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to keep our AS9100-certified aerospace manufacturing facility running safely, smoothly, and reliably. You’ll maintain the building and grounds, facility systems, and production machinery while supporting projects and daily operations across the plant. Every task is performed to meet or exceed customer, AS9100, and regulatory standards.

A day in the life

You start by walking the floor, checking equipment health, and prioritizing work with the Director of Manufacturing Services and the Lead Maintenance Technician. A press needs a quick repair; you diagnose the issue, source the right parts, and restore uptime using hand and power tools. In the afternoon, you support a production run, then update maintenance logs and recommend supplies to restock. Before you wrap up, you verify safety controls, help a teammate troubleshoot a mechanical fault to root cause, and take the company van to pick up urgently needed materials.

What you’ll do

• Partner with the Director of Manufacturing Services and the Lead Maintenance Technician to plan and execute maintenance programs, projects, and daily tasks.
• Perform routine service and corrective repairs on facilities and production equipment to maximize reliability and uptime.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively; set the standard for safe, technically sound work practices.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems to identify true root causes.
• Monitor equipment condition and general plant operations, escalating issues proactively.
• Recommend and request the purchase of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with team members across departments.
• Assist with production activities when needed to support daily APT operations.
• Drive the company van and perform other authorized APT business tasks as required.

• Work in accordance with the latest APT policies and procedures.
• Meet or exceed Customer, AS9100, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Model safe behaviors and be an example to others on the floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Solid, broad-based maintenance background across facility and production equipment.
• Bonus skills (preferred): PLCs, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, or related certifications/training.

Physical demands

• Frequent movement throughout the shop floor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
