Industrial Maintenance Mechanic: Full-Time
Pay: $20 – $40 per hour (based on experience).
Schedule: 5 Days - 8 Hour Shifts.
Location: 15 Whitehall Road, Andover, NJ 07821.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and plant systems, with a focus on minimizing downtime and keeping operations running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate brings hands-on mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting instincts, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, pumps, motors, conveyors.
Act as first responder to line stoppages — diagnose problems quickly using mechanical, electrical, skills to get production back up fast.
Utilize root-cause analysis to investigate breakdowns and prevent recurrence.
Diagnose and repair pneumatic and electrical systems; work safely on both low- and high-voltage circuits.
Assist with installation, start-up, modification, and upgrades of equipment and technology.
Identify and order parts using manufacturers' manuals; manage work orders.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, Sanitation, and outside contractors as needed.
Accurately complete work orders, maintenance documentation, and shift handoff communications.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and company policies.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of pneumatics and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and operating manuals.
Must own personal hand tools and be able to use them safely and effectively.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, and crouching throughout the shift.
Ability to work in warm manufacturing environments and wear required PPE.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
