Location: Cleveland, OH (near Detroit Avenue)
Compensation: $28.00+/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Overtime Available)
Employment Type: Temp-to-hire with long-term stability
It’s 6:00 AM in Cleveland and production is coming online. You start with a preventative maintenance sweep across the plant—checking belts, bearings, chains, and lubrication points on thermal processing equipment. A vacuum furnace shows signs of wear, so you replace a drive belt, verify alignment, and document the work in Microsoft Word before sending a quick update through Outlook.
Mid-morning, a line call comes in: an equipment fault is impacting cycle time. You dive into mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, interpret a technical drawing to confirm component specs, carry out the repair, and test the unit to ensure it’s running to standard. Between assignments, you help keep the facility sharp—painting touch-ups, general cleaning—and you perform a quick, basic MIG weld to shore up a bracket. When a kiln needs repositioning, you hop on a forklift to assist with the move, then validate safe operation.
You’ll support a well-established heat-treating operation serving automotive, aerospace, and heavy industrial manufacturing. The facility leverages specialized thermal processing systems, including vacuum furnaces, salt bath furnaces, and an in-house metallurgical testing lab.
This role is based in a manufacturing plant with regular exposure to heat, dust, humidity, noise, and fumes. You’ll spend much of the day standing, bending, and working hands-on in a physically demanding environment.
