As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic on our Philip Morris USA manufacturing team, you are the expert who keeps complex equipment running at peak performance—repairing, rebuilding, and validating fixes so operations stay safe, smooth, and efficient.
What a typical day could include
You’ll move from rapid diagnostics to precision repairs—switching between schematics, parts prints, and procedure manuals—then run equipment to confirm your work. You’ll collaborate with teammates to solve problems, plan preventive tasks, and step in when the unexpected happens.
- Diagnose and repair production machinery and auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot malfunctions using hand and power tools plus precision measuring tools
- Rebuild subassemblies and components; replace worn or faulty parts
- Execute routine preventive and urgent reactive maintenance
- Interpret machine schematics/parts prints and follow equipment/procedure manuals
- Operate machines post-repair to verify proper function and safety
- Partner with peers to root-cause issues and implement lasting fixes

Compensation
Start at $44.00 per hour, with eligibility to earn $51.76 per hour after 120 days. Shift differentials: $0.40/hour for B‑shift and $0.48/hour for C‑shift. Additional compensation may be available through our manufacturing incentive program.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Be eligible to work in the U.S. and for the Altria family of companies
- Open to any shift; willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Journeyman mechanical credentials OR relevant mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or military environments
- Reliable, consistent attendance
- Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn and grow
