About the Role

When a conveyor chatters or a gearbox warms up, you notice. You prefer the right fix over the quick fix and bring grit, determination, and ownership to every task. At CT Polymers, we’re looking for a mechanically inclined professional who’s eager to learn, improve daily, and thrive in a fast-moving production environment.

A Day in the Life

  • Start with proactive PM rounds and log accurate work orders in the CMMS.
  • Inspect and service industrial assets: extruders, grinders, shredders, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues safely and efficiently—bearings, belts, chains, drive systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Assist with installs, improvements, and light fabrication to elevate reliability and uptime.
  • Support production with equipment operation, cleaning, and setup during changeovers.
  • Keep the area safe, clean, and organized while following OEM standards and procedures.
  • Document your work clearly and communicate across shifts to ensure smooth handoffs.

What You Bring

  • Self-driven mindset with strong ownership of outcomes and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Comfort operating amid last-minute, rapid changes while maintaining high standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a problem-solving approach to troubleshooting.
  • Commitment to OEM procedures, safety practices, and doing the job the right way.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

Preferred Background

  • Mechanical experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply).
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics; bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems.
  • Exposure to extrusion equipment is a plus.
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Electrical familiarity (VFDs, motors, PLC troubleshooting) is beneficial—mechanical strength is the priority.

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Lift up to 65 lbs and meet the demands of a physically active role.
  • Comfort around moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to climb, work at heights, and maneuver in tight or confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Core Proficiencies

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Creating preventive maintenance plans; PM & inspection
  • Mechanical and equipment troubleshooting
  • Reading electrical schematics and blueprint reading
  • Facilities maintenance experience
  • Single- and three-phase power knowledge
  • Electrical systems diagnostics and repair
  • CAD software familiarity
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Machines & Technologies You’ll Use

  • Injection molding machines
  • Extrusion machines
  • HMIs
